I am writing on an article about the Leuchtpistole (Model Walther). The manufacturer Berlin-Lübecker Maschinenfabrik used the code "S/237" in 1937-38-39, until it changed in 1939 to "237".
A rumour has been circulating that an intermediate code existed in use for a short time; "S237". Can anyone confirm this?
The elusive S237...
Re: The elusive S237...
And a follow-up question: Has anyone seen a duv 40 marked Leuchtpistole?
Re: The elusive S237...
Hello, my earliest S/237 is 1937 serial # 611
In 1939 they switched to 237
my 1939 dated S/237 is serial # 882
my earliest 1939 237 is serial # 9122
The last date with 237 that I have is 1940. I have not seen a 237 with a 1941 date.
In 1941 I believe they changed the code to duv. My earliest duv is 1941 serial # 867
These are all for sale, as is the rest of my collection.

Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.
I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

Re: The elusive S237...
Thanks! That backs up my theory that the "S237" and the duv 40 doesn't exist. Until further proof surfaces...
Re: The elusive S237...
How rare are the 237 marked flare guns? I have a 1940 example
