Hi All,

I am posting this thread in hopes that no one else gets taken by this guy. He has a LP-42 for sale on Gun Broker.

I recently received a Kampfpistole from a Gun Broker seller http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =391989589 . The seller goes by renaissance*1 and his name is Billy Fuller of Spring, Texas.

The pistol's barrel is heavily dented in multiple places and the butt of the pistol looks as though it was used as a hammer. I contacted the seller and I received this response: "I am sorry. I am not any of kind of expert on these as much as you are. I answered every question and request you made. I offered the pistol at $800.00 opening bid. You bid $1000.00 buy it now. Auction states as is no returns. I had others interested that may have bought it. If you are unhappy you can list it. There was not any intent to deceive. The transaction is complete. Billy"

I will contact Gun Broker and inform them of what is going on.

I received a reply from Gun Broker which reaffirms my faith in their organization and policies:

If the item is not as described in the listing, the seller is required to accept a return and forward a refund - the seller is not required to refund the shipping costs.

The seller is aware the listing is to be accurate and having the caveat As Is does not release them from the accuracy requirement.

Now we'll see what happens.

Thanks for the warning. Gunbroker is a minefield for even the most careful buyer. I have made two successful flare pistol purchases there, but I can easily see the potential problems with this site. I will be curious how Gunbroker will handle this, and if they truly have any "teeth" to met out a proper resolution. Keep us posted.

Hello All,

Just to let everyone know (who may be interested) I received my money back today for the damaged Z pistol I purchased off of Gun Broker.

As I stated earlier, I contacted the Gun Broker Support section, explained the situation and they instructed the Seller to refund payment (less shipping) after he had received my returned item (which I paid for to ship back). The key statement from Gun Broker's Support section, in their email to both the Seller and myself, is this: "...and having the caveat 'As Is' does not release them (the Seller) from the accuracy requirement" (of their listing).

My advise: If buying a flare pistol sight unseen (even with pictures) always ask the seller about damage. You shouldn't have to do this but this episode taught me that its better to ask first.

Now to find another Z pistol....

Hi Folks,

Just a friendly "Head's up!": The Z flare pistol I returned is again up for sale on Gun Broker http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =395022754. Serial number is the same as I received.

He doesn't describe the dents in his written description which leads me to believe that he is deliberately trying to sell damaged merchandise. He now has a photo of the bottom of the barrel but it is taken at an angle where the dents are not visible. Inspection Period / Return Policy AS IS - No refund or exchange is also indicated.

He also has an LP42 up for auction on Gun Broker http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =395591655.

Buyer beware!

Why did you remove your photo attachments?? I believe the new purchaser of this Kampfpistole is trying to resell it on several other forums, stating that it is in excellent condition.

What is the serial number of it ??

The serial number is 5175 ayf42.

I did not remove my pictures. I thought that one of the moderators had done so. I will repost them today.
