Hello,
I need assistance with identification of the following flare pistol (see attached photograph and marks description, Butt marked: A.P.T./FL/No. 534.). Sorry I only have the one photograph. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Also, if anyone has any good reference sites they would also be helpful. The only really good site I had is no longer active.

It is the Double Barrel Navy Signal Pistol M-1899.
F.L. is the manufactures code. 534 is the serial number. I am not sure what apt means. There was a time I thought it was a manufactures code.

Apt may mean the flare pistol has been modified or altered from an earlier model.
