I just acquired this Hebel, but I’m not familiar with the marking: RA ou BA. It’s an early model without a counter-screw and with a small serial number.
Do you have any idea what this marking means, or have you seen it before?

It was a question, “a collector told me that,” but after extensive research, it turns out to be a big mistake. Mauser never manufactured a Hebel 1894.
I was looking for confirmation from you, the specialists in the US and other countries.

I have serious doubts, but I read that Mauser AG manufactured 2,500 Hebel 1894 rifles between 1910 and 1914 for the Kaiser's Navy.

Can you confirm or deny this?
