FZS 1942 recent acquisition

Post by billybibbet »

I recently acquired this example. It arrived with plenty of powder residue in the bores. The owner stated he received it from the estate of an uncle over 20 years ago, and only recently decided to sell it. He claimed (but no documentation) that it was a "bringback" by his uncle during WWII. I ran through a quick test, and it functions fine (did not actually fire it). Bores cleaned up well, as did the outside. There was some black spray paint applied in two small areas to cover some wear, I cleaned it off with lacquer thinner. I rather see the "warts" than some non original paint applied. (I purchased an LP34 with similar paint applied last year, but it cleaned off easily as well).

Anyway, the price was right, cosmetics are good, and it is a functioning example.
