Hello Peter, I have never seen this exact model. Was this a Ground Dug example, If so, Where was this pistol found ??

Does it fire by hitting the rear plunger ?? Or was the plunger spring powered when pulled back??
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

it looks very interesting...same question, what is the history behind this find (where, what circumstances)? From the mechanism it looks like an american M9, mit the closing is totally different.
